Mobile Window Tinting VS Professional Window Tinting Shop

professional window tinting

Perhaps the time it takes driving to a reputable professional window tinting shop and waiting for your vehicle to be tinted is not worth your precious time. Especially if it’s a long drive from home. You’d rather just stay indoors together with the comforts of home and hope that someone is tinting your vehicle.

Well you’re in luck, some shops send their installers to your house or anywhere you prefer to do such that while you carry on with your business. Also, start-up tinting services start from these services as well. Although the start-up ones are more common. This type of service is what we call mobile window tinting.
Cool right?

The installers will come directly to you while you sip your coffee and go on with your life. While this option may seem appealing, it also has its pros and cons as compared to professional window tinting in a professional auto tinting shop. Read on about the pros and cons of mobile window tinting to get some insights.

Pros of Mobile Window Tinting:

1. All for your convenience

How awesome it would be to have your vehicle tinted without even having to leave your house? Access to this service as a go-to option gives you great convenience and removes the hassle associated with long drives to the auto tinting shop and waiting awkwardly at their lounges while they finish the job.

Our installers will come directly to you or anywhere you prefer, allowing you to indulge yourself with all the comforts of your house while we tint your vehicle. Sit back and watch our experts at work.

2. Your schedule will not be affected

While your schedule for the week and subsequent weeks are already set in stone, you can still squeeze in tinting your vehicle without affecting your schedule. You can schedule anytime you prefer without the lingering thought of whether adjusting your meeting on the morning to lunch, whatsoever.

Chances are, you even have other nagging worries that needs your full attention and time and professional window tinting doesn’t have to be one of those worries. Let us worry about window tinting your vehicle. Our team of experts and installers is more than willing to go directly to your house for your convenience.

3. Experts come to you

Seeing the experts hard at work at your house gives you a sense of ease that comes only when you’re guaranteed a professional window tinting job. During which, you can observe and mingle with them — ask questions and know a thing or two about their job.

What happens here is beneficial for both parties since the presence of the customer affects the performance of the installer positively. Plus, the customer has a hands-on perspective of the job whereas at the shop, the job is usually done at closed-door without access to customers.

Cons of Mobile Window Tinting:

1. Lack of specialized tools and equipment

Expert installers can only bring a limited amount of tools and equipment. They can’t bring the whole container tool, that’s absurd. Which is why it is important for shops to send experts to handle such a handicapped situation.

But despite this, there are instances when a professional window tinting job is done badly and they have to return some other day to rectify it. In other words, installers have little to no room for mistakes. But if they did commit mistakes, the window tinting job will be prolonged significantly as they will have to return to their shop and fix the situation accordingly.

Start-up tinting services on the other hand usually have no capital investments on specialized tools and equipment. They rather rely on old-fashioned and improvised tools to get by. So don’t expect a high-quality professional window tinting job. But we’re not doing them justice when we already assumed they’re bad. They aren’t necessarily so bad in a sense they’re detested but they aren’t so good either.

2. Low-quality window tint films used

Most mobile window tinting services are start-ups so naturally, they don’t have enough capital to invest for a high-quality window tint film. Expect low-quality dyed or metallic window tint film from them.

Which is better?

Mobile window tinting may seem more appealing. The perks of not having to drive at an auto tinting shop is luxury within our reach. However, the risk of low-quality tinting job is very high and in part, becomes a stigma of mobile window tinting. In fact, most mobile tinting services result in defects in the long run.

A glimmer of hope however is that a small percentage of having an acceptable tinting job from mobile tinting is still possible. Nevertheless, it all turns out on how you weigh your options. If you’re willing to risk your vehicle to a mobile window tinting service while you’re cozy at home, then so be it. If you’re not willing to take risks, you can opt for a professional auto tinting shop and be inconvenienced in other aspects of your life.

Computer Cut Window Tinting

Computer cut window tinting

Computer cut window tinting is on the rise now wherein numerous auto tinting shops are integrating this system to their services. Through the years, many shops has seen tremendous growth in terms of service turnaround, quality of work and profit. While there are still a huge portion of the industry that hasn’t adopted the system, many have realized the importance of this system in the window tinting industry. Many experts and entrepreneurs deemed this system worthy of their investment which ushered in an era of innovative window tinting services.

A New Innovation

The system is highly innovative which utilizes technology and is a huge advancement from the previous manual-cut methodology. It brought many significant changes both in terms of service turnaround, material efficiency and quality of cut which translates to higher quality workmanship in a shorter time duration. Computer Cut Window Tinting Flying Windows Tint

How Does It Work?

In contrary to manual cutting, computer cut tinting requires the use of a special software and plotter. The installer must input the specifications of cut based on the window module of the vehicle.

What makes this convenient for us is we can make templates of cut for various types of vehicle. For instance, if a Toyota Corolla E210s suites up for window tinting, its specs can be stored in our database which can then be used in making a distinct template of cut suitable for all Toyota Corolla E210s out there. This capability can be extended to all types of vehicle in the future which makes us more efficient in our operations by having readily available templates of cut.

In other words, we can store all possible templates of cut for every vehicle which can further reduce the service turnaround duration.

Once inputted, the plotter will cut the window film to specifications with an accuracy of 99.8%. The installer will then install the computer cut window tinting by using a squeegee and heat gun.

Gone are the days of the laborious and tedious task of manually cutting the window film to sections which are material inefficient and prone to mistakes.

Benefits of Computer Cut Window Tinting

  1. Accuracy of Cut

The accuracy of computers can’t be underestimated. In fact, this system is so accurate that you are guaranteed an accuracy of 99.8% for every cut. This figure translates to an accuracy of less than the width of a hair. At Flying Window Tinting, accuracy, among others set the standards of our services.

  1. Saves Time

While manual-cut methodology is a tedious and time consuming process, computer cut window tinting process only takes about 15 minutes to finish and while the plotter is cutting the film, you can do other tasks such as doing prep work on the windows.

  1. Less Material Wastage

Another important benefits of computer-cut window tinting is material efficiency. The computer analyses the most efficient cut with the least amount of waste for the section of window tint film. Whereas manual cutting can become inefficient due to the likelihood of mistakes and inefficient cutting layout.

So far, Flying Window Tinting has documented an increase of material efficiency of 30% which is given back to our customers in the form of discounts and low service costs.

  1. Safety

Computer cut window tinting does not require contact with the windows which can permanently damage the windows.

What to look for in a quality window tinting installation

Quality window tinting

What Is A High Quality Window Tinting  Installation?

Despite being the nicest looking vehicle around complete with customized hoods, mufflers, stickers and everything, it only takes a bad window tinting job to spoil its whole look. The obvious and very noticeable output of a bad window tinting job is apparent, especially to car enthusiasts.

More importantly, it can affect some aspects of its performance in blocking theharmful effects of sunlight. Plus, the likelihood of premature peeling and bubbling is high which have negative effects in its appearance and performance.

So it’s important to know whether your vehicle has undergone a good or bad window tinting job. If proven that the latter is the case, you must protest your claims at the auto tinting shop that serviced you and have them replace it immediately, without additional cost.

Here are the telltale signs to look at to determine whether you have a bad window tinting job:

What to look for in a quality window tinting installation Flying Windows Tint

Evident Gap and Uneven Lines

The first thing to look at is the window edges. Check for big gaps between the window films and the line of cut of the film. If big gaps are present and the line of cut are uneven, it only means a bad window tinting job due to poor workmanship.

Also, the line of cut of the window film must be seamless enough without ragged cuts and should fit the window section snugly.

Purple Tint

Purple tint appear only in low-quality window tint films due to UV exposure. Seeing a purple-ish window tint film suggests that your auto tinting shop had used an inferior material.

Appearance id Bubbles

The appearance of bubbles is caused by two reasons, both of which concerns the workmanship of installation and quality of window films used.

In terms of workmanship, bubbling only appears if the prep work on the windows is not done properly. A good prep work must remove all dirt and foreign material as to provide a suitable adhesion surface for the window film. Even though you have the best window films to be installed, a bad prep work will always guarantee appearance of bubbles.

In terms of quality, bubbles will appear when low-quality window films’ adhesive starts to break down prematurely. When this happens, air will enter the gap which will bulge even more — forming unsightly bubbles.

Window Film Failure To Stick To Dot Matrix

The dot matrix are basically textured surface for the shade band to stick to the front windshield. This textured surface however is difficult for window tint films to adhere to. A good auto tinting shop will have ways to overcome this issue and install the window films with ease.

If the window film isn’t installed properly, you will notice broken lines and bubbles at the dot matrix.

Bubbling at Defroster Wires

Just like the dot matrix, defroster bars are also textured in a way that it’s elevated from the surface of the rear window. This window feature makes it difficult for window tint films to adhere to. However, reputable auto tinting shops have no problems installing window films at defroster bars.

If the window film isn’t installed properly, there will be gaps at the defroster bar without adhesive. These gaps are the places where bubbles form and becomes larger over time.

Find Your Own Reputable Auto Tinting Shop

You’re maybe wondering, if I’m guaranteed a good window tinting job from reputable auto tinting shop, I won’t be doing any of those things outlined above. That’s true, but it’s always better to know more. Knowing more gives you certain advantages given different circumstances.

However, if you do are looking for a reputable auto tinting shop, we at Flying Window Tinting can guarantee a good window tinting job, removing the likelihood of you inconvenienced by bad window tinting job.

How to Maintain Window Tint so it will last longer?

best window tint orlando auto tinting

Doing Proper maintenance on your window tint will let your window film last a lot longer even though you get a warranty his best to maintain it properly so you don’t have to get it redone. Many times when you have to redo the windows they may damage your defrosters or scratch your glass. Also, a lot of times a company might not be in business still. So your warranty might not be worth anything so if you follow the following steps it will let your window tinting on your vehicle last a lot longer.

When You First Get Your Window Tint?

When you first get your window tint it needs time for it to dry to the glass property. The installer cannot take out all the water time of insulation. So you cannot roll the windows down for three to five days while the sun dries out the rest of the water out and then the heat from the sun sticks the solar film to the window properly. So don’t be concerned if you see a fuse minor bubbles in the window tint when you first pick it up they will go away.

Best way to clean your Window Tint

The best product to clean your window is to use a  window cleaner that does not have ammonia. The window tint has a clear coat on the top layer which protects the tinted layer from scratching and chemicals and damaging it. But ammonia in glass cleaners after a period of time starts to destroy the clear coat.  Once that clear coat damaged it will look blurry and needs to be replaced.  So we recommend a window tint cleaner that is ammonia free. The one our shop recommends using our shop daily called Spray away window cleaner.

How long window tint last depends on the brand and warranty you get from the manufacturer?

Just maintaining the Windows using the proper cleaning and not damaging it may not necessarily make your windows last forever. A major factor in the longevity of your tint is the quality of the material. American-made Window Films last a lot longer than the imported window films from China or India as their main focus is a cheap price so they use cheaper materials. Another major reason that will affect the length of your window tint job is where you live.  if you live and the Northern United States or you have a very short summer your window tint will last a lot longer than if you live in the Southern United States like Florida or Arizona where you get the Sun a lot longer.

Things that you damaged your window tint that’s you wouldn’t expect?

Some things you might expect to damage your window tint are things like seatbelts hitting it. When you take off the seatbelt do not let it fly off as some have a strong spring on it and it might hit it on the glass beside you. After a period you will see small holes in the tint on the glass. Also carrying a ladder, tools, aluminum beach chairs, etc in the rear of your vehicle and it hits the glass will scratch it. Many people lend their cars are friends to move stuff and they bring it back scratched or damaged. So if lending out your car it might be wise to advise people to be careful on the window tint on the inside.

So just a bit of care when you have sharp metal objects you transporting in your car. We find the only thing that makes any scratches are things that have a metal edge.  Wood or plastic doesn’t seem to damage it.

Having pets around your window tint?

Having pets in your car does not damage your window tint.  We find the claws of cats and dogs are not sharp enough to scratch the tint. The biggest problem is when they rub their nose they leave a lot of smudges on the glass. But a good glass cleaner will clean that off and we had advised not to leave the smudges on too long . You can also get a plastic silicone cleaner that leaves a silicone film on the window and sorts of acts like an insulator against things sticking on the glass. Just make sure it’s chemical-free that won’t hurt your pets

Car washes don’t always use the right product to clean your car

Most car washes know not to use harsh chemicals on window tint. We find here in Florida they are knowledgeable on the best products that won’t damage your tint. But if you live up north where Window tint is not as popular you might want to tell them first that you have window tint and to use ammonia-free chemicals. Also, make sure they don’t have any sharp objects like buttons on clothes or when they’re cleaning it not to have their rings damage it.

How much your car is exposed to the Sun during the day

One of the final factors we find that determines the life of your window tint is how much sun exposure it has during the day. Some people parking and Underground parking While others are parked outside. If you park outside and the sun shines on your Windows 8 hours a day. It will reduce the life of your window tint.  We recommend parking the windshield towards the Sun or parK under a tree or shaded area.  If that’s not possible  rotate  the car each day so not one window is towards the sun all the time

Conclusion

in conclusion, the best way to maintain your film is to prevent it from scratches and to reduce the amount of sun that exposed to a daily. Most films in cooler weather will last  15 to 20 years if it’s a good quality film. In the South when it’s a warmer climate good quality film usually lasts between 10 to 12 years. if you get a good quality film like llumar 3M they come with a lifetime warranty and if you keep the receipt they will redo it free of charge parts and labor.

How to Remove Old Window Tint that has Gone Bad?

How to Remove Old Window Tint that has Gone Bad

Why does Window Tint Go bad?

There are two things why window tint goes bad. The first one is window tint is made up usually of two to three separate layers of film. One layer is the color film another is a clear coating to protect it from scratching and when the window tint goes bad they start to separate. The second reason why window tinting may go bad is that the glue goes bad due to excessive heat over time. The chemicals will break down then the glue will start to Bubble. So when you see cars bubbling. It’s not the window tint Orlando that’s bad it said the glue on the window Orlando. Are you looking for some “best car window tint near me”? Check out the Orlando Flying Window Tinting.

What has to be removed?

To clean the old window tinting to get the window back to the original condition. You have to remove the window film first and then the second part is removing any glue that may stick to the glass. The first part is usually the hardest because if the window film is really bad it might want to come off in very small pieces if it’s not on too long usually comes off in one piece which makes your life a lot easier

How long before Window Tint Orlando goes bad?

There are a couple of things that determine how long are window tint will last before going bad.  Some factors that will determine that is 1st  the quality brand of window tint that you purchase. The better the brand the better the raw materials are. If you get a really cheap window film that says made in China usually they go bad very quickly because they use cheaper quality materials to keep their cost down while you use some American brands like 3M or Llumar window tint they use the latest quality material and them last much longer. Second, it depends on the temperature of where you live if you live Up in Detroit window tint will probably last forever, if you live in Florida or Arizona the Heat will reduce the lifespan of the window film.

The third factor that will determine how long your window film will last is if your car is a park in the garage or during the day it’s parked outside directly in the sun. If it’s parked inside a garage the life of the car will lot longer if it’s parked where you work and in the sun 8 to 10 hours directly every day.

The lifespan will shorten, So the best thing to make your window tint on your car last longest is to  buy a brand name window film with a good warranty and also try to keep it out of direct sun during the day if you can be in a garage may just park it under a tree or in the shade,

Why is it so hard to remove old tint

The reason why auto window tint is so hard to remove as because when the material starts to break down I need trying to pull it off and breaks into small pieces and then he said makes it harder to pull off because it sticks to the window.   When you tried to pull the old window tinting that comes out in little pieces.

Will you be able to save your defroster wires while removing the tint

The biggest concern people have about removing window tint themselves and not getting a professional window tinting job you do it is if they will be able to save their defroster wires. In the South, defroster wires are not too important but as you go further north where you get a lot of frost in the morning it is very important.

Here at Flying Window Tinting, we start off with the side doors and that will use you tell us how bad the window tint will be to remove. If the side window comes off in small pieces we know the chances of the rear defroster not working may increase it’s only happening to maybe 20% of the cars.  Usually, really bad window tint has probably been on over 12 years anything under seven years usually is easier to come out depending on the brand. To find out if the window tint is  good quality or a cheaper quality window tinting in Orlando just try the small as a window on the side first and that you would usually tell you whether the film will come off easy or hard

3  ways to remove window tint

1- Using a razor blade

Using this method is usually the hardest want to do and takes much more physical energy. What you basically doing is using a spray bottle with soap and water and some small scraper blades you wet the window with it in and start to scrape off the film like how you scrape paint off of the glass. As long as you keep the window really wet and soapy it will not scratch glass a disadvantage for this process is that if you have a defroster wire on the back of your window it will not work if you scrape it

2-Soaking it with water using a banking system

The 2nd process is to soak it in grease remover like 409. They also make professional chemicals that you can use .you get a black garbage bag and cut it out on the outside of the rear window to the shape of the glass that is clear.  Then soak the window with the chemical and put the black bag over the tint on the inside. Then every 20 minutes keep re-soaking it.

After then try to peel the window tint off the window if it continues to keep sticking you need to soak it until it releases smoothly. The hotter the outside the better it is I recommend doing it with the temperature over 80 degrees or put a heat lamp on it. The heat speeds up the chemical to absorb through the window tint.

 3-Using a professional steam machine

this third process needs a steam machine. Professional window tint shops t have Steam Machines worth around  $1,000 but you can also use inexpensive clothes steamer. What you do when you start peeling the corner and steam the tint. The heat from the steamer and the moisture usually weakens the glue and keeps the Window tinting Orlando together. It’s also good to do it outside in the sun the warmer the glasses the easier for the glue to remove.

Final stage

Once you have all the window tint in Orlando removed.  There may some glue residue left on the glass. You can now use the one-sided razor to scrape the glue but if you don’t want to damage the defroster wire on the rear of the glass. You get some 409 degreasers or grease remover and also some steel wool 0000  This is the finest steel wool you can get so it won’t scratch glass. After all the glue has gone double check in the corners to make sure no glue is hidden in the corners.

Conclusion

So finally decide which process you want to use.  Make a list of all the tools and chemicals you may need. Start early in the morning w when it’s sunny and warm. I would not do it on a rainy or cloudy day. It will be a bit time-consuming depending on how hot the weather is and how old the window tint is but in the end, it will save you a lot of money. it’s so funny oh my God.

Having Car Windows Tinting and Skin Cancer Prevention

car windows tinting

There are more than a few benefits of having Car Windows Tinting but today we’re talking about the role of car window tinting and   skin cancer prevention. A benefit that you can take advantage of by visiting us here at Flying Window Tinting Orlando.

Having Car Window Tinting and Skin Cancer Prevention

Having Car Window Tinting significantly reduces your exposure to skin cancer-causing UV rays. This is particularly important in areas like Orlando where skin exposure to UV rays from the sun is particularly high.

To give you a better understanding of the significance of the UV ray blocking power of having Car Window Tinting, here are a few facts and statistics that you may find interesting.

  • Exposure to UV rays is directly linked to the development of skin cancer.  UV rays damage the skin cell’s DNA. When this damage affects the DNA of genes responsible for skin growth, skin cancers begin. Having Car Window Tinting helps to reduce your risk of skin cancer by blocking out harmful UV rays and protecting the skin from the resulting damage.
Having Car Windows Tinting and Skin Cancer Prevention Flying Windows Tint
uv protection sun window tinting
  • Our top of the line LLumar car window tinting film can filter out as much as 99% of UV rays with a wavelength of 300-380nm! This vastly reduces your chances of developing skin cancer due to UV ray exposure while driving!
  • The strength of UV rays that you are exposed to can influence your likelihood of developing cancer. When considering sun exposure, you are exposed to the strongest UV rays while driving between the house of 10 a.m and 4 p.m.
  • You may think that you are protected from UV ray exposure when you drive on a cloudy day but this isn’t necessarily true! According to the American Cancer Society, where some clouds can block some UV rays, others can actually reflect them and increase your UV ray exposure! This is why you should never rely on a “cloudy day” to protect you against a sunburn! This is also a great reason to install UV ray filtering car window tint that will protect you from UV ray exposure year round!
  • UV ray exposure is higher in areas closer to the equator. In the continental U.S., Florida is the state closest to the equator which means Floridians are exposed to higher levels of UV rays than residents living in states like New Jersey, for example. Fortunately, a high-quality tinted window film can reduce this exposure risk.
  • UV rays can bounce off certain surfaces and result in increased UV ray exposure. These surfaces include water, sand, snow, pavement, or grass, all of which, with the exception of snow, are regularly noted in Florida. You can protect yourself against these harmful UV rays by wearing high-quality sunscreen, sunglasses, and by investing in UV ray protection devices like Llumar car window tint! This is particularly important for Floridians who live a short distance from the beach, sandy areas, or areas with water exposure (which, let’s face it, is most of Florida!)
  • Protective clothing can help to reduce your risk of skin cancer from UV ray exposure. Living in Florida, however, you already know that wearing this type of protective covering in the peak of summer just isn’t feasible! With temperatures soaring, the last thing that anyone wants to do is put on more clothing!
  • Skin cancer isn’t the only risk that comes withUV ray exposure and it’s not the only risk that can be reduced by having Car Window Tinting. A high-quality Llumar car window tint can also reduce other side effects of UV rays including skin discoloration, decreased skin elasticity, precancerous skin changes, the risk of developing cataracts, signs of premature aging, immune suppression, and wrinkles.
  • There s a misconception that dark-skinned individuals cannot suffer negative health effects due to U.V ray exposure. While dark-skinned individuals do have a lower risk of developing skin cancer from UV ray exposure, their exposure to dangerous UV rays can still lead to negative health effects like cataracts and suppression of the immune system! You can reduce these chances by investing in high-quality sunglasses, protective sunscreen, limiting your time in the sun, and purchasing high-quality car window tint to stop a significant portion of those UV rays from sneaking in!

  • When you tint your own car taillights, you only have access to films that are available commercially. When you have a professional taillight tinting Orlando shop tint your taillights for you, you have access to exclusive and professional films that will last much longer!
  • A professional car tinting shop has the tools you need to cut taillight films with precision and to apply those films properly without any problems. When you try to install your own taillight tinting films, however, you likely don’t have the right tools on hand for the job which means that you may end up cutting your own films and getting crooked edges or applying your films and getting dust caught under the films or wrinkles or bubbles developing and creating a warped look to your taillight films.

Q: Is taillight tinting legal?

A: Just like car window tint, taillight tint is legal, but the level of tinting that is permitted varies by state. Here inFlorida our state law says:

“shall emit a red light plainly visible from a distance of 1,000 feet to the rear.”

In most cases that means that your light must allow 24% of light to pass through it. What does this mean for your car taillight tinting? It means that those dark black tints that some people sport on their cars are illegal. If a car window tinting shop offers you this type of tint, keep this in mind and opt to use another window tint installer instead.

Q: If a Shop is Willing to Install Super Dark Taillight Tint, Why Shouldn’t I Get it?

A: The taillights of your car serve a very important purpose which is why certain laws limit taillight tint percentage. If you install a taillight tint that is far too dark (and illegal) you are putting your life and the lives of others in danger. Darker than permitted tint on your taillights also draws the attention of law enforcement professionals and will result in your being pulled over, fined, and required to remove the films from your taillights. Essentially, you lose your investment in taillight tint films and you pay additional fees which means that you are going to pay more for your self-installed films in the end than you would if you paid a professional car tint installer.

10 Benefits of the Window Tinting

1. UVA Protection

Times have changed since then and Llumar films were designed with our increased technological dependence in mind. Llumar ATC films do not block radio signals and allow for the unsullied use of your electronics!

7. No Fading

If you ever invested in poor quality window tinting films, then you have, no doubt, seen the purple coloration that they take on over time. This discoloration is the result of sun exposure and poor quality window tinting films being unable to effectively reflect the sun’s rays. Llumar window tints, however, use modern technological principles to ensure that your car window tints never recreate that 1980’s look!

8. Scratch Resistant Coating

Many car window tint films claim to feature a scratch resistant coating that makes sure that your car’s window tinting film doesn’t become easily damaged. Unfortunately, many of these claims are simply untrue and many car owners experience unsightly cracking and scratching of their car window films. Llumar, however, is a top quality brand of window tint Orlando has trusted for decades and their window tinting films are guaranteed not to scratch!

9. Shatter Resistance

Many car window tinting films claim to offer shatter resistance in vehicle windows after their film has been applied. Unfortunately, a vast number of these film production companies are offering exaggerated claims. Llumar car window tint, however, has proven time and again that their films really are shatter resistant!

10. Infrared Ray Reduction

Infrared rays come from the sun and are felt by our own skin as heat. Infrared rays cannot be seen with the naked eye, however, which means that drivers are at their mercy. Fortunately, with Llumar window tint films, infrared ray intrusion in your vehicle can be reduced considerably and this makes for a more comfortable driving experience!
